Eating My Way Through Vail

Vail is unmistakably paradise, period. Paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, paradise for thrill-seeking junkies, paradise for yogies, paradise for spa-lovers, paradise for fashionistas. Magnificent scenery abounds making you forget any and all stresses! Whether you’re trekking through the mountains or taking a stroll in the village, you’ll feel the town’s positive energy. There’s simply something floating in Vail’s atmosphere, picturesque landscape, and quaint sidewalks that makes one feel as if they’re walking on cloud 9! And to make things even better for foodies like me, the food is absolutely amazing!

Below, my top picks for dining in Vail! Bon apettit!

  • For your sweet tooth: Crespelle
    • This local favorite offers a variety of inventive crepes (both sweet and savory), which are to die for. I tried the Pillow Drop, which resembled a smore!
  • For an all-American bar experience: Red Lion
    • Head out to Red Lion for live music, finger-licking good ribs and fries, good drinks and a great time.
  • For upscale dining: Matsuhisa
    • From renown chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, Matsuhisa offers exquisite traditional Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend the spicy tuna on crispy rice to start off!
  • For casual Asian cuisine: Sushi Oka
    • This sushi is seriously competing for the #1 spot on my all-time favorite sushi list! And as the sushi-lover that I am, I’ve visited my fair share of sushi establishments. This low-profile restaurant has AMAZING food. We ordered the following rolls and they were all out of this world: french kiss roll, rainbow roll, vail roll, crazy dog roll. Sushi Oka also has tepanyakki tables and delicious Chinese food!
  • For boozy brunch: Vintage Vail
    • Chic establishment with trendy decor, mouth-watering plates, and fancy cocktails. I highly recommend the pancakes and waffles!

Other local faves: La Bottega, Tavern on the Square, Up the Creek.
